Sarbjit is a story that needed to be told. Taking up such a sensitive subject is not easy to work upon and Omung Kumar is one brave director! The film is all about how a mistaken identity takes Sarbjit to Pakistan jail, how he is tortured for 23 years and how his brave sister Dalbir Kaur fights relentlessly to the highest level possible for justice.
We feel terribly sad at what Sarbjit’s family must have gone through for all these years. Hope, courage, innocence, anguish everything is very well captured in the film. You empathize at the plight of the family.
The film has honest performances from the entire cast. Randeep Hooda is remarkable and beyond brilliant. You see the amount of hardwork he has put on to capture the soul of Sarbjit. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as Dalbir Kaur is completely nuanced and flawless. Richa Chadda is as always a solid performer. All of them have depth in their characters.
Review: #Sarbjit is heart wrenching, lives upto the hype.
